MapMyMole is a professional teledermatology service that combines high-resolution dermoscopic imaging with expert analysis by consultant dermatologists. It's a fast, accurate, and accessible way to have your moles and skin lesions assessed without waiting months for an NHS referral.
During your appointment, James uses a medical-grade dermatoscope to capture magnified images of any moles or skin lesions you're concerned about. These images are securely uploaded to the MapMyMole platform, where they're reviewed by GMC-registered consultant dermatologists who provide a clinical assessment and recommended next steps.
This isn't a phone app or AI screening tool. It's real dermatologists reviewing real dermoscopic images of your skin — the same standard of imaging used in specialist skin cancer clinics.
The ABCDE of Mole Checking

Your first mole is £50, with each additional mole just £25. Multiple moles can be assessed in a single appointment, making it cost-effective to get several checked at once.
Your dermoscopic images are reviewed by GMC-registered consultant dermatologists through the MapMyMole platform. These are the same specialists who work in NHS and private skin cancer clinics. The diagnostic responsibility sits with the reviewing dermatologist.

Not at all. The dermatoscope is simply placed gently against the skin to capture images. There are no needles, no biopsies, and no discomfort. It's completely non-invasive.
If you have risk factors (fair skin, lots of moles, family history, sun exposure), an annual check is a sensible baseline. Between checks, monitor your own skin monthly and book in sooner if you notice any changes.
